Had a night's stay at Sofitel Singapore City Centre in my favourite month and we had an extremely relaxing stay! :) Sofitel Singapore City Centre is conveniently located right outside Tanjong Pajar MRT, with lots of tasty restaurants in the vicinity.
Before the stay, I received an email from their Guest Experience Coordinator to check if I would like any special arrangement, etc. This was an additional personalised touch that would be great for those who are looking to book Sofitel Singapore City Centre for a special occasion.
The Experience
Upon arrival, we were greeted with a beautiful seating area where guests can sit while waiting for their ride to the airport. Take the lift up to the 5th floor for the check-in counter.
While one of the staff handles your check-in, another friendly staff would bring you a welcome drink along with some wet towels. Great service from the start! It was lemongrass pandan. It was sweet, and not my drink of choice, but still a thumbs up for service!
After checking in, the reception staff would personally bring you up to the room. She explained everything to us while we were in the lift: where the pool and gym was located and their opening hours. As we arrived in our room, she briefly gave us an overview of the amenities.
The view at the lift area was beautiful, the building in which Sofitel is located in is quite high in comparison to the other shophouses so you can really get a bird's eye view of the city.
The Room
We stayed in the LUXURY KING ROOM, which was the lowest tier of rooms in the hotel, but it was no less luxurious. When we entered, we were greeted with a huge 38sqm room!
Every furnishing was very well-thought out!
We had a nespresso machine with 4 selection of coffee and non-caffeine pods (with nespresso cups no less!), and a pretty tea pot set with TWG teabags! For those who are looking to wind down with champagne or wine in the evening, there's also some wine glasses. There's a kettle for you to boil water for your tea, and a well-stocked fridge. For rooms other than the luxury rooms, the drinks and snacks are complimentary.
They also provided some stationery that came in quite useful and handy as we worked through the night!
There was also an ironing board and iron, with bathrobes and slippers. You basically everything you needed in that one room!
The large bed was soft and comfy and you even get a choice in the pillows! Just make a call and they will send their robots to you!
There were also lots of resting areas including the reading sofa at the side. We also really enjoyed using their BOSE stereos to enjoy some music in the evening!
For travellers, you can make use of their mobile phones that offer you free internet and calls while you are in Singapore, just remember to place it back in the rooms when you leave! Such a handy service!
Great Service continues
At about 4.30pm, we had the staff at the door that brought us some afternoon treats! There was some TWG tea, a lychee drink, some pineapple tarts, and macarons! This also came along with a hand-written card from the manager!
Made myself some tea to enjoy it with the macarons. It was so yummy! Especially the lemon and red velvet one! :)
The Pool
Before the sun sets, we went to the 6th floor to explore the pool area. There was a beautiful lap pool where you can swim amongst the greenery while still being in the middle of the concrete jungle.
There's also ample seating area beside the pool if you would just like to suntan and chill! Look how pretty it looks as night falls!
Towels and sunblock are provided at the toilets should you need them for your swim!
There's also a cart with cool water and fruits that you can help yourself with after your swim!
And here's a glimpse of the gym! It has your basic treadmills and weights that you can have a good morning workout before starting your day, or have a short exercise before turning in at night! All of these entrances are available only for guests with the room cards!
All in all, Sofitel Singapore City Centre provided us with a luxurious and restful stay and we are excited to also try their two other hotels, Sofitel SO and Sofitel Singapore Sentosa Resort & Spa soon! :)
