Dorsett Mongkok, Hong Kong

Updated: Oct 24, 2022

We've been to Hong Kong a couple of times and have stayed in various hotels, from budget ones to the more luxurious ones. Known as the city where rooms and homes are seriously TINY, you can still find good space ones in Hong Kong for an affordable price!

One of our favourite is Dorsett Mongkok, Hong Kong (although not so much the location as compared to the other hotels). The Dorsett is a mid-tier hotel and the nearest MTR is the Olympic Station with a 12-minute walk.

We've requested a room of a high floor and check out the view of the concrete skyscrapers! We had an almost full glass window facing the road but it did not disturb us one bit at night! :)

The room is comfy and nicely decorated, with lots of mirrors to enlarge the small Hong Kong rooms. There was even a bay window plus a small work desk! Even so, the size of the room was sufficient for two Asians with some space for our luggages.

The toilet is small, but the full glass shower and toilet area makes the room appear slightly bigger! It also gives a "romantic feel" for couples. The frosted glass adds a slight privacy to it.

There is also a small pantry area right next to the toilet area with a tiny fridge, coffee and tea, and mineral water. Even for a small space, they ensured that essential amenities were provided!

More mirrors at the entrance region, and the space is equipped with a television for your late night entertainment.

The surrounding area where the hotel is located also has several eateries and cafes so that you can grab breakfast or lunch (if you oversleep!).

Other amenities that the hotel provides include the complimentary shuttle service that leaves hourly to Langham Place Mall / Mongkok MTR subway station, the Hong Kong Airport Express Line Kowloon Station, and the China HK City / Star Ferry region.

We booked Dorsett Mongkok, Hong Kong on Booking.com for about $110 sgd per night which also includes breakfast. Definitely a good deal!
