Heng Heng Bak Kut Teh

When talking about Bak Kut Teh, there’s generally two camps. You either prefer the peppery ones or the herbal ones. Which are you? If you miss your regular Johor Bahru JB runs, then you’ll need to make a trip here to experience some Malaysian vibes!

At Heng Heng Bak Kut Teh, located at an unassuming corner on Owen Road (the same stretch as the hipster Old Hen and Bakehaus), you’ll find yourself delightful transported to the olden days. Here, enjoy an endless supply of peppery goodness with fresh and tender pork bones, or Bak Kut, as we call it. The sides of salted vegetables, dough fritters, and small intestines were equally delightful!

Spend an afternoon here at Heng Heng sipping tea from a traditional teapot and teacups as you chat with your party! Prices here are affordable too, we paid a total of $22.50 for everything you see above.

This eatery is easily located via a 5 minute walk from Farrer Park MRT on the North-East Line. Try it and let us know what you think!
