I've visited Ho Chi Minh recently and had the opportunity to spend 3 nights at Sheraton Saigon Hotel and Towers. It isn't the best priced property in HCM city, but it has the best location in my opinion! Read on to find out more
Where is Sheraton Saigon Hotel & Towers located?
Sheraton is located in district 1, right behind Cafe Apartments and walking distance to many of Saigon's attractions, including shopping malls like Saigon centre and Saigon square, and restaurants, bars, and massage places. You can also walk to the Saigon river to view it at night.
As many would know how the traffic is like in Ho Chi Minh, having a hotel right in the heart of the city brings about so much convenience! (If you don't, just imagine Thailand but many times more!)
How are the rooms like?
The rooms are just like most Sheraton and Marriott properties. I stayed in the main tower which is more modern. The room decor is accented with Sheraton's iconic red.
There's plenty of room for 2 as it has a table if you need to do some work, and a sofa to lounge in if you're waiting for your partner to shower and don't want to rest on the clean bed before bath time!
Each room comes with 3 bottles of complimentary water, your usual coffee and tea, and also ironing facilities if you're travelling for work.
The bathroom also features a full standing shower and a separate bath tub which is a nice touch! You know how sometimes when they are combined, it is just so hard to get into the bath area.
What are the hotel's facilities?
Sheraton has full-fledged facilities like a gym, and a nice pool nestled on the fifth floor amongst some greenery.
There's also a rooftop bar and numerous restaurants so you don't even have to leave the hotel if you don't want to.
The best part about my stay? It is Sheraton's breakfast!
Sheraton's buffet breakfast selections
I was really impressed with the selection as I didn't get bored after having it for consecutive days. You could get almost all of Vietnam's food here. This was the beef pho!
And there was also a selection of tropical fruits including jackfruit (which is not so common in buffet breakfasts). I also enjoyed the fresh coconut water on my second morning. I was so delighted to see it after missing out on it the night before.
You could also choose your own fruits and get them freshly squeezed on the spot at the juice counter!
The staff will also walk around with "daily special" juices and yoghurts and offer them to you in the morning. That special touch and discovery of new selections was a great touch in the morning before you start the day!
As I was there for a conference, I also tried their lunch buffet in the same restaurant. Even though it was really crowded, I must say that the desserts were top class!
Conclusion
All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Sheraton Saigon Hotel and Towers and will highly recommend it to anyone who is looking where to stay in Ho Chi Minh City!
