Lotschberg is still my favourite Rosti place in Bern, Switzerland! I've been here countless times when I was having my exchange at the University of Bern and even though the food's pricey according to Singapore's standards, I can't help but keep going back...

Best Rosti in Bern, Switzerland. Restaurant Lotschberg

Don't be deceived by this picture, it is a humongous plate of rosti! The first time, each of us ordered one plate, on top of a swiss cheese fondue. Needless to say, we couldn't finish our food and had to packet them back.

There are three rostis available at Lotschberg. The one in the picture was the was with eggs and bacon. We also tried the one with raclette cheese. Each plate of rosti costs 26 euros = 42 sgd! =/

The restaurant's located in the old town and should be quite easy to find. There's indoor seating areas or outdoor al fresco style. Have you tried Lotschberg? Share with us your pictures and what you think of it!

Where to stay in Bern, Switzerland?

When staying in Switzerland’s charming capital, you’ll want to balance location with comfort so you can easily explore the UNESCO-listed Old Town, the River Aare, and the city’s cultural highlights. For a luxury stay, the Hotel Schweizerhof Bern & Spa is a top choice, blending historic elegance with modern design and featuring a rooftop bar with panoramic views of the city. Another five-star favorite is the Bellevue Palace Bern, which sits right next to the Swiss Parliament and offers old-world grandeur along with views of the Alps.

For a mid-range option, the Kreuz Bern Modern City Hotel offers clean, modern rooms right in the Old Town, with easy access to Bern’s attractions and trams.

Switzerland is by no means an affordable country so travellers seeking something affordable can consider the ibis Styles Bern City, located just a short tram ride from the Old Town. Ibis has always been my go-to whenever I want a cheap stay that is reliable. An alternative is the Youth Hostel Bern, which has a prime riverside location and is surprisingly stylish for a hostel.
