Visiting London for the first time and wondering where you should go to have your first meal? Look no further as we recommend the top 10 must-visit restaurants to dine at in London!

1. Duck and Waffle

English Breakfast @ Duck and Waffle

One must certainly try Duck and Waffle @ Duck and Waffle! Situated at the top floor of Heron Tower, Duck and Waffle presents a great view of the city and is opened 24/7! Head for breakfast for the least pricey dishes and enjoy the sunrise while you're at it.

Do note that Duck and Waffle is getting really popular and it is advisable for you to reserve your seats in advance! There is also a dress code to follow if you choose to visit! Read our post on: Dining in the highest 24/7 restaurant in London for more information!

2. Burger and Lobster

Lobster Roll @ Burger and Lobster

Even though you can get burger and lobster from many other locations like the United States, Bangkok and Genting today, why not try it where it originated? Burger and Lobster no longer has its only 3 dishes for 20 pounds but it is still worth a visit as it is undoubtedly the best lobster roll you can find (we think it is better than Luke's Lobster!)

3. Flat Iron Steak

Flat Iron Steak

For 10 pounds, you can get a piece of Flat Iron Steak that comes with chips and fries! While waiting, the folks at Flat Iron Steak will also serve you some freshly popped popcorn, and even offer a free chocolate ice cream cone (Convent Garden outlet)! Now, you have a 3 course meal for only 10 pounds, what's not to like about it?

4. The Breakfast Club

The Breakfast Club

Head to the breakfast club for an English Breakfast and good coffee. Do time your visit to avoid the peak dining hours to ensure you do not have to stand outside in wait for too long!

5. Fish!Kitchen @ Borough Market

Fish! Kitchen @ Borough Market

You can't leave London without having some good ol' fish and chips! At Fish!Kitchen, you can enjoy a wide variety of fried fish while people-watching in Borough Market. After having your meal, you can also head out to shop the groceries available in the market, or even have more snacks!

6. The Kensington Creperie

For desserts or even for breakfast, try the Kensington Creperie. There are simply too many varieties of crepes to choose from and you will be spoilt for choice! It is also a great place to hang out as the crepes caters to savoury food lovers and individuals with a sweet tooth!

7. Shoryu Ramen

Shoryu Ramen

Yes, we know, what's so English about this? But this piping hot bowl of ramen is so comforting, especially during the cold winter! The broth is creamy and flavourful and it may even get you asking for more!

8. London Duck

London has the best duck! Visit either Gold Mine or Four Seasons to have a taste of this fatty Irish duck! Do order a bowl of rice and drench it with some sauce!

9. Dishroom

We have yet to try this but it is definitely on our munchlist the next time we visit London. It has been recommended by many of our friends as the best Indian food in London! If you've tried it, do let us know how it us!

10. EAT.

This isn't quite a restaurant but it is an amazing cafe / take out eatery. It sells sandwiches, pastries, and bread. EAT. outlets can be found all over London and you should definitely try out their pie and mash!

Bonus: HIGH TEA in London

If you have the time and stomach space, do also head for high tea in London. We recommend Fortnum & Mason's Diamond Jubilee Tea Salon. We love Fortnum & Mason's teas and never fail to purchase boxes of tea bags home!

Where to stay in London, United Kingdom?

Looking for the perfect mid-tier hotels to stay at during your trip to London, United Kingdom? After having stayed at multiple hotels throughout our visits to London, we have compiled a list of our favourite accommodations:

First on our list is the Paramount Hotel, which is situated in a quiet neighbourhood near Earl's Court metro station. This guest-house-like property boasts spacious and tidy rooms, making for a comfortable stay. The Earl's Court region is ideal for travellers on a budget, as it features a variety of reasonably priced hotels while still providing access to the station within Zone 1. Additionally, a 24-hour Sainsbury Local is conveniently located just a 4-minute walk from the hotel.

On another occasion, we tried the Ibis Styles London Kensington Hotel, part of the AccorHotels chain. Like the Paramount Hotel, this hotel is also just a 2-minute walk from Earl's Court Station and a 4-minute walk from Sainsbury's Local. However, the rooms are slightly smaller and may lack the homely feel of the Paramount Hotel. Nevertheless, the modern rooms and high-quality service expected from an international chain make it a great option for travellers.
